Ryanair: Microsoft Silverlight

Filed under: Open Source, firefox, linux, microsoft, webdevelopment — @ 17:31

Everyone who’s paying a visit to the Ryanair website and goes to the Destinations map will notice it … you need to install Microsoft Silverlight.

Uhmm … Silverlight only runs on Windows or Mac OS and not on Linux. I’ve not been able to check other parts of their site (registration and so on …) but surely their web development team must have been exposed to lack of oxygen?

Definitely !!! I’m using Linux and I’m really wondering whether I should give up with Ryanair or what !!! Unfortunately there’s not a lot of options from where I live (Girona).
I think this is CRAP!!! especially when the standard flash application worked just wonderfully.
I agree with the lack of oxygen. Anybody knows a way around and getting our poor Linux boxes to properly see the “destinations” tab ???!!

That’s outrageous! Has Ryanair, the cheap-flight-specialists, heard anything about cheap software? Maybe a “free operating system” rings a bell?

I’m looking for alternatives to this unavailable resource “Ryanair destinations”…

Its much worse than just Linux. I cannot even install Silverlight at work on Windows. The Firewall prevents me from doing so.

Give us back the system that worked.
